When it comes to creating a budget, you need to have a REALISTIC budget to work off of. Our goal is always to plan slightly higher than where you will end up. We feel it’s always better to find ways to decrease some items in your budget, rather than add to the numbers. Our Budget Calculator above is a good approximate budget to work off of to give you some realistic ballpark numbers assuming you are doing a full kitchen remodel. This is based off of 30+ years of working in the Cary/Raleigh area.

When it comes to General Contracting costs, this category will VARY GREATLY depending on the work you are having done. If you need a large structural beam, you will need to add to the GC costs. If you’re not redoing your floors, your number will be much less.

Some items to consider:

*Painting is not inexpensive, but you do need it in a remodel. If you love to paint, you can choose to tackle that part yourself and save on your GC costs.

*Appliance totals will vary depending on the brands / sizes you select. Higher end appliances like Thermador or GE Cafe or Sub-Zero will carry a higher price tag.

*Cabinet costs will vary depending on if you have 9’ or 10’ ceilings and want cabinets tight to the ceiling. Wood hoods will also add a larger amount to your cabinet costs

*Remember - YOUR BUDGET IS IN YOUR CONTROL. You can select lesser priced appliances to keep the cost down, simple subway tile to keep your backsplash tile cost down, etc.
